Introduction

Inserting content from a content catalog can greatly enhance your projects by providing a wealth of pre-made OOTB and company resources. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step, ensuring that even beginners can master this task with ease.

Step 1: Connect to your application

Initially, you must ensure that the Content Catalog is linked to the application for insertion. This connection will enable the Content Catalog to display the supported content for the specific application and facilitate the insertion process.

  • To do this first open Content Catalog and your application of choice. (See Release Notes for applications support details.)

  • Next, find the connection icon in the top right.

It shows the application currently connected. Click the icon to verify your connection or switch to another open application.

Step 2: Find Content

The first step in inserting content from Content Catalog is to Search, Browse or open a Saved Search to find the content you wish to insert.

Step 3: Preview the Content

Before inserting any content, it's a good idea to preview it to ensure it meets your requirements. Simply select the name of the item to open the details page for that item.

The file details page will display Image(s), 3D preview, object information, properties, file history and file information for further review.
*Note support for file format details vary. See release notes for more details.

Step 4: Insert the Content

After previewing and selecting your desired content, you’re ready to insert it into your document or project. Here’s how:

  • While in the search results or file details locate the "Insert" button.

  • Select the insert button to insert the content directly into your connected application.

  • A confirmation message will appear in Content Catalog and your content will appear at the location of your cursor for individual place able items or content will load and appear in the connected application.
