How to Add Content from Revit to Content Catalog Using Batch Export

This article shows you how to add content to Content Catalog from Revit using the Batch Export feature. Keep in mind that you can also upload content from your file folder system within the Content Catalog app.

Upload Content

Looking to upload your system families and details as well? No problem! Content Catalog is compatible with multiple Revit element types:

  • Families

  • System Families (Walls, Floors, Ductwork, Piping, Cable Tray, etc)

  • Details (Drafting Views)

  • Schedules

To upload content, select the cloud icon on the left side of the screen.

You can export items from any model you have open in Revit by clicking on the export button with your model's name in the top right corner.

Next, select the items you would like to export. If you’d like to only select individual items from the category, select the arrow button (>) to expand the section. Once you’ve selected the items, hit Next.

The items will be exported, and you can return to the Upload Content page. Here you will be prompted to select a collection. Choose your collection and select Save.

From here review your items adding notes and tags if desired before choosing the blue Upload button in the top right of the page.
